MFR FAQ

What Should I Wear During Treatment?

For Myofascial Release, underwear or loose-fitting shorts are ideal, allowing me to assess posture and work directly with the areas being treated. A loose-fitting vest or tank top may also be worn if you prefer additional coverage.

Myofascial Release is performed without oils or lotions, so please avoid applying these to your skin on the day of your appointment.

Why do I need to drink extra water before and after treatments?

Staying well hydrated supports the normal function of your muscles and connective tissues and can help you feel comfortable before and after treatment. I recommend drinking water regularly throughout the day rather than trying to drink a large amount immediately before or after your session.

How Long Will It Take Before I Start To Notice A Difference?

Everyone responds differently to Myofascial Release. Some people notice changes after their first session, while others may benefit from a series of treatments, particularly when restrictions or symptoms have been present for a long time.

Your response can depend on many factors, including how long you have experienced your symptoms, your general lifestyle and how your body responds to treatment.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

There is no set number of sessions, as every person and every body responds differently. Some people notice meaningful changes after one session, while longer-standing or more complex restrictions may benefit from a series of treatments.

For ongoing concerns, three sessions can be a useful starting point, allowing us to assess how your body responds and decide together what feels appropriate for you. There is no obligation to continue treatment, and your care will always be tailored to your individual needs.

How Often Should I Receive MFR Treatment?

How often you receive MFR depends on your individual needs, how your body responds and what you would like to achieve from treatment.

Some people choose to have sessions closer together initially, while others prefer more time between appointments.

As your body responds and changes, we can adjust the frequency together. There is no fixed schedule — treatment is always tailored to you.

What Are The Benefits Of Myofascial Release?

MFR is used to help reduce feelings of tension and stiffness, improve ease of movement and support overall mobility and relaxation.

People often seek MFR for:

• Persistent muscular or fascial tension
• Restricted movement or stiffness
• Back, neck and shoulder tension
• Postural and movement restrictions
• Tension following injury or surgery
• General mobility and body awareness

Everyone responds differently, so the benefits and experience of MFR will vary from person to person.
