 Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy uses specially designed cups to create gentle negative pressure (suction) on the skin and underlying tissues.

Unlike traditional massage, which applies downward pressure, cupping gently lifts the tissues.  The cups may remain in one position or be moved across the skin depending on the area being treated and what the body needs.  The lifting action can help create space within the tissues, encourage local circulation and reduce feelings of muscular tension and restriction.

I tailor the pressure and technique to you, so treatment can range from very gentle to more focused work depending on your treatment goals.

Potential Benefits Of Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy may help to:

• Reduce feelings of muscular tension and tightness
• Support flexibility and range of movement
• Encourage local blood flow to the treated area
• Ease feelings of stiffness after physical activity
• Create a sense of relaxation and wellbeing
• Complement massage or myofascial release when appropriate

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Everyone responds differently to cupping therapy. Some people notice a difference after one session, while others choose a series of treatments depending on their goals and how their body responds.

We can discuss what feels appropriate for you and review your progress as treatment continues. There is no pressure to commit to a course of treatment.
